Features and Uses
Awlfair LW is a premium trowelable product for fairing, leveling or smoothing surface imperfections due to gouges, pitting, dents or weld seams. The Awlfair LW formulation brings you the latest technology with super smooth finish and easy sanding. Awlfair LW is suitable for both manual and automatic mixing. Leading industry applicators rave about its application attributes. Backed by extensive laboratory research and development, Awlfair LW has been tested and approved for a multitude of systems. May be used above or below the waterline.
Specification Data
Type: Two-component epoxy.
Color: White base, red converter. Pink - after mixing components
Packaging: Available in 1 Quart, 1 Gallon (US only) ,2 Gallon pails, 5 Gallon pails, 60LT pails (EU only) and 200lt containers (EU only).
Theoretical Coverage - Sq. Feet/Gallon; 6.8 Sq. Feet (0.63 m2) at 240 mils (6000 microns) DFT.
Coverage calculations are based on theoretical transfer efficiency of 100%. Actual coverage rate obtained will vary according to equipment choice, application techniques, part size, and application environment.
Recommended Wet Film Thickness: 240 mils (6000 microns) per coat. Maximum 400 mils (1 cm).
Number of coats: As required
Anticipated Cure Time at 75§ F/25øC/50% R.H: 8 hours touch dry; 24 hours resistance to foot/tread; 7 days full cure.
Recoatability: Awlfair LW must be sanded before recoating with itself or any other primer. It must be over coated with an epoxy primer such as High Build, Epoxy Sprayable Fairing Compound, Hullgard, Ultra Build or Std E Trowelable Filler (Europe only) before applying the finishing system.
Awlfair LW is sandable after 48 hrs at 55 § F /13øC , 17hrs at 77§ F/25øC and 6.5 hrs at 95øF/ 35øC.
Shore D hardness development after 7 days: >60 at 77 § F/25øC.
VOC: Base (D8200) - 0 g/l or 0 lbs/gal
Converter (D7200) - 84 g/l or 0.70 lbs/gal
Mixed (1:1 by volume) - 42g/l or 0.35 lbs/gal

Surface Preparation
Only apply over properly applied and prepared Awlgrip primers. Hullgard Extra Epoxy Primer (EU only), Hullgard Epoxy Primer and High Build are recommended substrate primers. Awlfair LW may be applied direct to Hullgard Extra or Hullgard Epoxy Primer without the need for sanding. See the relevant primer product datasheet for details. High Build must be sanded prior to application of Awlfair LW.

Mix ratio by weight: 1.59 :1.0 D8200 : D7200
Induction time after mixing: None
Anticipated Pot Life at 50% RH:
55§F/ 13§C : 3 hours
75øF/ 25øC : 1« - 2 hours
95øF/ 35øC : 45 mins ? 1 hr
Mix the two components thoroughly to a uniform pink colour with no streaks or lumps.
Warning: Do not add any thinners or reducers to Awlfair LW.
