Duralux Topside Marine Enamel - us279206 - 06-28-2012 03:39 PM Hello, I would like to paint my fiberglass airboat with the Duralux Topside Marine Enamel, My question being I would like to clear coat it after with metal flake. Is this possible with this paint, If so what clear coat should I use. I will being the black paint. Thanks. RE: Duralux Topside Marine Enamel - BottomPaintStore - 06-30-2012 01:07 AM It is possible with paint. Generally, you would need to paint your base color, then apply the your 1st coat of clear coat with the metal flake. The 2nd coat should just be the clear coat. Otherwise you will have metal flake showing at the surface. The Duralux Marine Enamel does not come in a clear. You can paint over a colored Duralux marine enamel, but you would need to use a 1 part clear coat. You should also check the compatibility in a small area before tackling the whole job. We have not tested the Supermarine Revolution Clear over the Duralux Marine Enamel but this is what we would suggest. We have included all the links in this post. Good luck with your project! |
