Restore Hull - iamrobinson - 04-05-2013 10:33 PM
My boat has no bottom paint on it.
My boat was in salt water barnacles grew on it, over time the hull was scraped with a paint scraper.
The scraper has removed the barnacles but the hull is destroyed.
The hull is completely trashed.
I need to find out what process I need to do go thorough to bring my hull back to its original finish.
Any information will help.
Thanks in advance for the information.

To the original finish would be doing any necessary repairs to damaged fiberglass, if any, and regelcoat. As most boats leave the factory with gelcoat on the hull and "original". Gelcoat is not the easiest product to apply but with work can turn out great results.
Another option if you need antifouling on your boat to prevent this from occurring again is to use a high build epoxy primer, like Tuff Stuff, then coat with bottom paint. Antifouling has a dull, chalky finish but slows the growth greatly.
