Duralux Aluminum Boat Paint Green, Quart
|
|
|
| |
 |
Aluminum Boat Paint Green is a vinyl-type product which exhibits excellent adhesion to aluminum and galvanized substrates. There is no need to prime raw aluminum, thereby cutting labor costs in half. Its semi-flat finish provides less drag on boat bottoms than conventional flat marine paints. It washes easily and resists oil, gasoline and discoloration from harbor gases. This aluminum boat paint is ideal for Pontoon and House Boats when used in fresh water and bottom paint is not needed to stop growth, but you still want to protect the bottom! The perfect aluminum boat paint!
Color: Dark Green Only
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
SURFACE PREPARATION: The surface must be dry and free of grease, wax, dirt or
other foreign matter. Scrape off all loose paint and dull any gloss with a light sanding or
power brushing. Remove all dust with a cloth dampened with paint thinner and allow to
dry.
APPLICATION: Use Brush, Spray or Roller.
Unpainted Surfaces: Steel- on clean, rust free surface, apply two coats of M739 Duralux ZinKromate primer, apply two full coats of Duralux Aluminum Boat Paint.
Aluminum: Wipe down with white vinegar, prior to coating, to "etch" the surface.
Painted Surfaces: A small area should be tested for compatibility where over coating old paints.
Steel: Clean all bare areas to bright steel, Duralux Aluminum Boat Green will not lift Duralux ZinKromate Primer. Touch up with two coats of Duralux ZinKromate Primer. Top with two full coats of Duralux.
Aluminum: Touch up all bare areas with Aluminum Boat Green. Top with two full coats of Duralux Aluminum Boat Green.
Thinning: Made for use as it comes in the can. If thinning is desired, use no more than one half pint of MEK per gallon. For spraying, use one half pint to one pint per gallon.
Coverage: On properly prepared surfaces, expect to cover from 400 - 500 square feet per gallon.
Drying Time: Four hours, but slightly longer on damp or cold days. Allow 12 - 16 hours for thorough hardening before repainting.
Clean Up: Xylene
