Premium Marine Grade White Gel Coat has great cosmetic and protective life expectancy and will keep your hull shining like new for years.

Sea Hawk Premium White Gel coat can be used to patch all gel coated fiberglass parts. It is specifically designed to provide an excellent surface finish. It is resistant to water and most common household chemicals, carzing, and loss of gloss during normal use. It is intended for marine and automotive use. Marine use includes cabins, decks, hulls, skis, and tanks. Auto use includes fiberglass trailers, recreational vehicles (RV), and truck bodies. This gel coat is also used to fill gouges, chips, scrapes and deep scratches in white fiberglass gel coat finishes.

Applied in a thickness of 15-20 mils, which gives it depth to survive considerable water sanding, compounding and repolishing. Sea Hawk White Gel Coat ia a resilient, isophthalic polyester coating that has great cosmetic and protective life expectancy and will keep the surface shining like new for years.

Adding Tint: If color is desired, the gel coat can be tinted with a Coloring Agent. Add no more than 1 ounce of coloring per quart of White Gel Coat. Adding tint to white gel coat will product a pastel color since you adding a tint to a white base. If you need deep, rich color, please consider our pre-colored gelcoats or add tint to a neutral gel coat.

Should you use a Wax Additive Sanding Aid or No Wax?

If you are planning a doing a small repairs, or overcoating gel coat, you should use the wax additive sanding aid. on your last coat of white gel coat. The wax allows the White Gel Coat to harden so that is may be sanded and buffed. This is considered White Finish Gelcoat. When using the wax additive sanding aid, the gel coat will not require PVA or other air-inhibitors to cure to a hard surface.

If you are fabricating with fiberglass and white gel coat, or you plan on applying multiple coats, you should use the white gel coat with no wax: The white gel coat will not harden and allow for the fiberglass and or additional coats of white gel coat to bond without sanding. You will then need to add a surface treatment to the white gelcoat so that it will harden, such as PVA surfacing agent or other air inhibitors such as a mold release agent. Or you can apply another coat of white gelcoat with the wax additive sanding aid so that it will be a sandable white finish gel coat.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean surface with Sea Hawk Wax N Grease Killer. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, wax, oil, and other foreign matter. All surfaces must be sanded. Do not apply directly over paint.

GEL COAT PREPARATION
Shake and stir container thoroughly before using. Mix 12 drops of hardener per ounce of Gel Coat (10cc per quart / 40cc per gallon). Gel Coat will begin to gel in approximately 30 minutes at 77 F. In warmer temperatures (90 F) reduce hardener by 50%. In cooler temperatures (65 F) increase hardener content 100%. Resin may not thoroughly cure if applied in temperatures below 60 F.

TIP: After application, buff with 3m Rubbing Compound, and then polish with 3m Marine Finesse It II Glaze.
