Tooling Gelcoat is marine grade formulated specifically for mold making. Tooling gelcoats utilize selected resins that exhibit high heat distortion, high gloss and a hard durable surface to withstand the repeated mold cycles.

Tooling gelcoat will not harden and allow for the fiberglass and tooling gelcoat to bond while being in a mold. You will then need to add a surface treatment to the tooling gelcoat so that it will harden, such as PVA or other air inhibitors such as a mold release agent.

GEL COAT PREPARATION
Shake and stir container thoroughly before using. Mix 12 drops of hardener per ounce of Tooling Gelcoat (10cc per quart / 40cc per gallon). Orange Tooling GelCoat will begin to gel in approximately 30 minutes at 77 F. In warmer temperatures (90 F) reduce hardener by 50%. In cooler temperatures (65 F) increase hardener content 100%. Resin may not thoroughly cure if applied in temperatures below 60 F.
