Fumed Silica Filler/Thickener is as thixatropic agent used as an additive in gelcoats, epoxy, and resin to thicken the product. Also known as Cabosil FIller or Aerosil Filler. This is a hydrophilic fumed silica.
Fumed Silica provides little change to weight, color, or physical properties after cure, used in resins and gelcoats to make them hang on vertical surfaces, (too much can cause porosity.)
To thicken resins and epoxies add 2% by volume.
Gelcoat Putty: add 7% to make a putty.
Epoxy Putty: add 7% to make a putty.
